Questions
How do I get started?
First launch is Choose your vault. Tap Try sample lists to load bundled markdown lists, or pick a folder of markdown files — an Obsidian vault, or any other. Files with checkbox tasks appear; folder structure stays as it is on disk.
Why is one of my files missing?
A file appears when it is a markdown file with at least one checkbox task. If you turn on the optional tag filter, the file also needs one of the tags you chose in its frontmatter.
Does TODO.md replace my notes app?
No. Your editor still owns the files. TODO.md is the dopamine list on top of the same checkboxes. Obsidian, another markdown app, or Files — edits in either place stay in the folder.
What does the widget do?
The widget shows tasks from a file you choose. Checking one off writes that completion back to the source markdown file.
How does calendar sync work?
It is off until you enable it. TODO.md mirrors dated tasks into its own Apple Calendar; the markdown task remains the source of truth.
What happens when I turn on reminder capture?
It is opt-in and needs a destination file. TODO.md writes a captured reminder into that file, verifies the write, and only then removes the reminder from your default Apple Reminders list.
